| SSN Institutions constitute a
professional, high powered Management Board with the vision
to build a centre of excellence in education for the future |

Chennai, July 1, 2009: The SSN
Institutions, founded by Shiv Nadar, HCL Founder and a
globally recognized visionary and philanthropist, today
announced the constitution of a Management Board and
appointed R. Srinivasan, a globally recognized business
strategist and entrepreneur and the Founder & Managing
Director of Redington (India) Limited, as the Board's
Chairman.
"It is my honor to be given the responsibility to bring a
global vision and outlook to the management of the SSN
Institutions, which I'm proud to say have already reached a
preeminent position in the country. With my very
distinguished colleagues on the Board - who are authorities
in their respective fields, I hope to be able to make that
preeminence global" - said R Srinivasan.

thought leadership at SSN and take forward the work towards
building a meritocracy based educational system for students
from all strata of society." said Shiv Nadar.
The SSN Institutions have always believed in setting new
benchmarks in the way education is imparted. The newly
constituted Board is mandated with focused goals to achieve
new benchmarks in the management of the Institutions to take
the Institutions closer to their vision of being one of the
world's best. "This is yet another milestone in the SSN
Institutions' growth path which demonstrates our vision to
become a world class educational institution. We will
continue to nurture talent, enable all round personality
development to empower students across socio-economic strata
and continue to level the playing field for future
generations," said Roshni Nadar, Trustee, SSN Trust. Roshni,
who has come back after completing her MBA in social
enterprise management from Kellogg, Northwestern University,
is deeply interested in development,and now increasingly
spending her time in several progressive interventions at
the SSN Institutions management, academics and pedagogy.
In a country where outstanding progress is unfortunately
offset by the huge gaps in its education system - a third of
India's population (~400 million) are still illiterate and
prevented therefore from entering the mainstream and become
part of the "Shining' India - the SSN Institutions are an
attempt to make a positive change in society through its
transformational educational institutions.
About the SSN InstitutionsFounded by Shiv Nadar, Founder -
HCL, the SSN Institutions endeavor to provide world class
research based education to meritorious students from all
walks of life through premier educational institutions
including the SSN College of Engineering (SSNCE), the SSN
School of Management and Computer Applications (SoMCA), the
SSN School of Advanced Software Engineering (SASE) and SSN
Research Centre (SSNRC). The Institutions provide over 400
scholarships worth over Rs. 4 Cr. every year to enable
access to world class education for deserving students from
